Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 14, 2026
What this covers
This policy explains how Rimb (“we”) uses cookies and similar technologies — such as browser local storage — on our website and product. For how we handle personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. “Local storage” is a related browser feature we use for the same purpose. We group what we use into four categories: strictly necessary (the site cannot work without them), functional (they remember your preferences), analytics, and advertising.
Analytics and advertising cookies are off by default. Nothing in those two categories loads unless you accept it in our cookie banner — and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time (see , below).
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use cookies to build advertising profiles beyond measuring our own campaigns. We only set analytics and advertising cookies with your consent.
Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to function — to keep you signed in and to protect our forms from abuse. They cannot be switched off through this site.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| rimb_session_token | Keeps you signed in. Stored in your browser's local storage and sent with each request to identify your session. On our custom domain the API may also set an equivalent same-site session cookie. | Local storage / first-party cookie | Until you sign out or clear your browser storage |
| __cf_bm, cf_chl_* and similar | Set by Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects our forms and sign-in from automated abuse. These let Cloudflare distinguish humans from bots. | Third-party cookie (Cloudflare) | Session / up to 30 minutes |
Functional
These remember choices you make so the product behaves the way you left it. They are set only after you interact with the relevant feature, and the site still works without them.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| rimb.theme | Remembers your light/dark theme choice. | Local storage | Until you change it or clear your browser storage |
| sidebar_state, rimb.sidebarCollapsed | Remembers whether you collapsed the app sidebar. | Cookie / local storage | Up to 12 months / until cleared |
| rimb_pending_invite | Temporarily holds a team-invite token so the invite is applied after you finish signing up. | Local storage | Cleared once the invite is redeemed |
| rimb.cookie_consent | Remembers your cookie choices so we don't ask again on every visit. | Local storage | Until you change it or clear your browser storage |
Analytics (with your consent)
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics — loaded through Google Tag Manager — to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. Google Tag Manager itself does not store cookies; it loads the tags below. These run only after you opt in.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics (loaded through Google Tag Manager) — distinguishes visitors and sessions so we can see how the site is used in aggregate. | Third-party cookie (Google) | Up to 2 years |
Advertising (with your consent)
If you accept advertising cookies, we use the Meta Pixel to measure whether visits and sample requests came from our ads, and to reach similar audiences. These run only after you opt in.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| _fbp, _fbc | Meta Pixel — measures whether visits and sample requests came from our ads, and helps us reach similar audiences. | Third-party cookie (Meta) | Up to 3 months |
Managing cookies
You can change or withdraw your consent to analytics and advertising cookies at any time:
If you are in a US state with privacy opt-out rights (such as California under CCPA/CPRA), use Your Privacy Choices to opt out of the use of advertising cookies for measuring our ads — which those laws treat as “sharing” your personal information. We also automatically honor Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser as such an opt-out.
You can also clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings, and most browsers let you delete site data for a single site. Blocking the strictly necessary items will sign you out and may stop forms from submitting. Clearing functional items simply resets those preferences.
